A vCard is a tiny standardised text file
The QR encodes a vCard 3.0 string — the same format used by every modern phone, email client, and CRM. When scanned, the phone recognises the format and offers to add the contact directly to the address book. No app needed.
Tips for printing
- vCard QRs are denser than URL QRs because they carry more data — print at at least 3 cm × 3 cm for reliable scanning.
- If you only need name + phone + email, leave the rest blank — fewer fields mean a less dense QR.
- For business cards, error correction level H (default here) tolerates wear and partial damage.
